Training

In various Commonwealth developing countries, we have determined a significant need for training and ongoing multi-disciplinary interaction between and across functional specialties. We attribute this finding to the shift to Convergence and the breaking down of traditional legacy network “silos” and other administrative silos including duplication of efforts.

The following training programs address these training needs. The programs are normally one week in duration. They are delivered by seasoned professionals from Canada in traditional classrooms using collaborative learning techniques. We encourage "in country" training which maximizes the number of participants who may benefit from such a learning environment. We also encourage "external" participants who can enrich the learning experience of everyone. Testing is conducted throughout each course to ensure that participants are keeping up. Likewise, course evaluations completed by the participants provide us with valuable feedback. We produce a Training Report for the host country which assists in its evaluation of the success of each program.

Following is a recent quote from an African student who participated in a six-week Diploma in Telecommunication Studies program delivered by Alliances.

In a world where change is most often a consequence of natural forces, my contact with you has provided me with the grounding and insight to be an agent of positive change. As such instead of being at the mercy of change, it is my wish to engineer change that will influence positively my family and by extension the nation since the family is where the nation begins. Though spatially separated, it will take eternity to forget you.
